It’s been a long week here!  After coming back from my weekend in Provincetown, I was hard at work with inventory, sales and getting our summer ready for hot releases (including the 5th Cocky Boys movie and another film from Used & Abused).

I just wanted to take a few moments to recognize an icon in gay porn, Jean-Daniel Cadinot.  For those of you that do not know who Cadinot was, he was one of the best directors this GPA has ever seen.  His iconic films were just that: iconic.  Even if don’t know his filmography by heart like I do, you’ve probably seen clips of his videos or have seen his influence in the contemporary films of today.

I often call Cadinot the Stanley Kubrick of gay porn: he was an auteur that helped redefine the genre and put his own spin on gay porn.  Two years ago, JD Cadinot passed away due to a heart attack.  So, this is a small way of saying, “You won’t be forgotten Monsieur Cadinot.”

I’ll make this one quick today as I’m feeling the effects of last night’s birthday debauchery.  (I actually had a relatively innocent night; I’m just not used to drinking on a school night.)

Today, I learned that the Free Speech Coalition* posted videos on YouTube asking people not to pirate adult films.  It is reminiscent of the commercials the MPAA make to deter sharing of music files. (Like this one)

In the FSC PSAs, several adult performers, including the legendary Ron Jeremy, equivocate mainstream media with adult media.  In other words, a porn movie is not different than a movie coming out of Hollywood studios like Paramount; people work hard to make these movies for you, the viewing audience.  Here’s my plea: don’t pirate adult films… it makes it harder for me to sell movies, which in turn makes it harder for me to write this blog and feed my porn addiction.  If you need cheap gay porn, you could always stop by STUDMALL.com where there is a great BUY 1 GET 2 FREE SALE going on.
